Medical Assistant (CMA/EMT/LPN)
Peachtree Immediate Care has an Immediate Opening for a Medical Assistant ( CMA/EMT/LPN ) at our Stockbridge location.Full-time position: 3 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend shift. You must be willing to float between clinics that are in close proximity to Stockbridge, GA.

We have an opening for a Certified Medical Assistant to provide healthcare services to patients in a clinical setting, ensuring patients are treated with high standards of care. Individuals in this role need to be detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, perform basic medical procedures, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Peachtree Immediate Care centers are open seven days a week from 8 am - 8 pm and provide walk-in care for injury, illness, and minor emergencies as well as family care to keep both parents and children healthy.
BASIC FUNCTION:
Communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel and patients. Under general supervision, the Clinical Support Team is responsible for assisting the Physician, Physician Assistant (PA, PA-C), or Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP) in support of medical care provided in the specialty of Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. Day-to-day activities will vary from patient intake, accepting and returning patient calls, performing lab work, general x-rays, administering medication, and assisting in minor procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to):
1. Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently receive and greet visitors, patients, and staff members professionally.
2. Perform selected duties within the scope of practice.
3. Maintain and perform all required quality control and compliance measures put in place by CRH Healthcare.
4. Maintains equipment for use in a clean and safe condition.
5. Prepare and maintain exams and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.
6. Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Be thorough and accurate in documentation of patient complaints, vital signs, current medication, and allergies.
7. Initiate care of the patient before the provider on duty’s exam according to standing orders.
8. Perform lab tests as directed by the Physician, PA, or NP.
9. Administer medications, including by mouth (PO), SQ injection, IM injection, intradermal injection, eye drops, ear drops, and/or topical when ordered by a CRH licensed provider.
10. Requires ability to perform venipuncture per policy and apply dressing as instructed.
11. Follows proper procedure for the performance of Occupational Health services, where applicable.
12. Follows proper procedures for the collection of radiographic images, where applicable.
13. Perform direct patient care as instructed by the Physician, PA, or NP.
14. Assure that proper consents are obtained and signed.
15. Ability to prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.
16. Assist the provider in preparing for minor procedures and exams.
17. Perform wound care as instructed.
18. Assist with scheduling of tests and treatments/referrals.
19. Assure the patient as needed; allay fears and answer questions as necessary.
20. Exhibit cooperation and a positive attitude toward other hospital departments and physicians’ offices.
21. Communicate questions about the appropriateness of medical care through a chain of command as needed.
22. Make suggestions to improve work methods.
23. Other duties may be assigned within the scope of practice.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Patient discharge – includes a review of written discharge instructions with the patient or party responsible.
2. Answer telephone calls per department standards relaying information as directed by the provider and documenting the same.
3. Complete routine equipment checks and stock supplies. Notify appropriate leadership of things needing to be ordered.
4. Attendance of pertinent in-service and educational conferences and attend quarterly staff meetings.
5. Take primary responsibility for keeping knowledge and skills current.
6. Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in the delivery of patient care.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistant, certification preferred.
• Licensed Practical Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Basic Machine Operators, and Radiologic Technologists are required to be a graduate of an accredited school with applicable current State licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Reliable transportation to commute to assigned regional offices.
• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a high-paced facility.
• Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years in an outpatient/clinic setting.
- Duties performed are under the direct supervision of a medical provider and may vary by formal training and by State guidelines. Therefore, individuals must only perform duties ordered by a medical provider and not prohibited by State regulation or statute.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in clean, well-lit, heated, and air-conditioned areas. Exposure to unpleasant sights, smells, and infectious diseases is possible. The work schedule depends on department needs and current staffing patterns. Holiday and weekend work as necessary.
