Medical Assistant (CMA/ EMT/ LPN)


Peachtree Immediate Care has an Immediate Opening for a Medical Assistant (CMA/EMT/LPN) at our North Alpharetta location.
FULL-TIME POSITION: 3 12-hour shifts with a rotating weekend shift. This position requires you to float between the clinics within the region North Alpharetta, Alpharetta, and Roswell.

We have an opening for a Certified Medical Assistant to provide healthcare services to patients in a clinical setting, ensuring patients are treated with high standards of care. Individuals in this role need to be detail-oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, perform basic medical procedures, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Peachtree Immediate Care centers are open seven days a week from 8 am - 8 pm and provide walk-in care for injury, illness, minor emergencies, and family care to keep parents and children healthy.




BASIC FUNCTION:
Communicate and interact effectively with a wide variety of personnel and patients. Under general supervision, the Clinical Support Team is responsible for assisting the Physician, Physician Assistant (PA, PA-C), or Nurse Practitioner (NP, FNP) in support of medical care provided in the specialty of Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine. Day-to-day activities will vary from patient intake, accepting and returning patient calls, performing lab work, general x-rays, administering medication, and assisting in minor procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Include but not limited to):

  • Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal and communication skills necessary to consistently receive and greet visitors, patients, and staff members professionally.



  • Perform selected duties within the scope of practice as directed by the Provider on shift.



  • Maintain and perform all required quality control and compliance measures put in place by CRH Healthcare.



  • Maintains equipment for use in a clean and safe condition.



  • Prepare and maintain exams and treatment rooms with necessary instruments.



  • Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Be thorough and accurate in documentation of patient complaints, vital signs, current medication, and allergies.



  • Initiate care of the patient before the provider on duty exam according to standing orders.



  • Perform lab tests as directed by the Physician, PA, or NP.



  • Administer medications, including by mouth (PO), SQ injection, IM injection, intradermal injection, eye drops, ear drops, and/or topical when ordered by a CRH licensed provider. 



  • Requires ability to perform venipuncture per policy and apply dressing as instructed.



  • Follows the proper procedure for the performance of Occupational Health services, where applicable.



  • Follows proper procedures for collection of radiographic images, where applicable.



  • Assure that proper consents are obtained and signed.



  • Ability to prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments.



  • Assist provider in preparing for minor procedures and exams.



  • Perform wound care as instructed.



  • Assist with scheduling tests and treatments/referrals.



  • Assure patient as needed; allay fears and answer questions as necessary.



  • Exhibit cooperation and a positive attitude toward other hospital departments and physicians’ offices.



  • Communicate questions about the appropriateness of medical care through the chain of command as needed.



  • Make suggestions to improve work methods.



  • Other duties may be assigned within the scope of practice.



SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Patient discharge – includes a review of written discharge instructions with the patient or responsible party.



  • Answer telephone calls by departmental standards, relaying information as directed by the provider and documenting the same.



  • Complete routine equipment checks and stock supplies. Notify appropriate staff (RCC or RDO) of things needing to be ordered.



  • Attendance of pertinent in-service and educational conferences and attend quarterly staff meetings.



  • Take primary responsibility for keeping knowledge and skills current.



  • Adhere to standards of safety and infection control in the delivery of patient care.



EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistant, certification preferred.   



  • Licensed Practical Nurse and Emergency Medical Technician required to be a graduate of an accredited school with applicable current State licensure. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistant, certification preferred.   



  • Licensed Practical Nurses, Emergency Medical Technicians, Basic Machine Operators, and Radiologic Technologists are required to be graduates of an accredited school with applicable current State licensure. 



  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.



  • Reliable transportation to commute to assigned regional offices.



  • Travel to different clinics within the region applied to is required.



  • Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with patients in a high-paced facility.



  • Ability to escort or transport patients by wheelchair when appropriate.



  • Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, and weekend hours as needed.



  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.



  • Detail-oriented with excellent interpersonal communication skills.



EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years in outpatient/clinic setting preferred.
