
James Yost, MD, MS, MBA
Dr. Yost began his career in medicine as a paramedic where he served the Metro Atlanta community for 10 years. Dr. James Yost joined CRH Healthcare as the Chief Medical Officer in August 2015 when his former practice, Physicians Immediate Med, where he served as the CEO and Managing Partner since 2009, was acquired by CRH Healthcare. Before that, Dr. Yost served our Veterans as an Emergency Department and Urgent Care Physician at the Atlanta VA Medical Center.
In this role at CRH, Dr. Yost oversees the day-to-day clinical operations of all clinics and leads physician recruitment, training, and ongoing evaluations for over 350 providers.
Since joining CRH Healthcare, Dr. Yost developed and implemented quality control and assurance programs, including the Peer Review Committee and a residency program for nurse practitioners and physician assistants, was instrumental with partnerships with Emory Healthcare and Adventist Healthcare to foster a network that emphasizes urgent care and value-based initiatives and utilizes technology to drive improvements. Dr. Yost has been featured in multiple on-air interviews during his time with CRH Healthcare.
Dr. Yost completed his Family Medicine Residency at Emory University School of Medicine, earned a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Medical Science Degrees from the AUC School of Medicine, obtained a Master of Business Administration Degree from American Intercontinental University, a Bachelor of Arts from Thomas Edison State University, and an Associate’s Degree in Paramedic Medicine from Georgia Paramedic College. Dr. Yost holds medical licenses in Georgia, Florida, and Maryland and is board-certified in Family Medicine with subspeciality certifications in Hyperbaric and Wound Care Medicine.
Dr. Yost is a member of Phi Chi Medical Fraternity, the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians, and the American College of Healthcare Executives. He was voted Most Studious in his medical school class, was awarded Preceptor of the Year by Mercer University for his dedication to teaching students, and has been recognized on Atlanta’s Best Doctors Top 10 List.
Dr. Yost also serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Medicine at Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing at Emory University, a Clinical Preceptor in the Emory Family Medicine Residency Program, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at Mercer University, and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Yost also volunteers as the Emergency Medical Responder Course Medical Director for the Fulton County Board of Education, and previously served on the Board of Directors for the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, served as the Department Chair of Graduate Medical Education for Emory Johns Creek Hospital as well as the Vice Chair of the Family Medicine Department. He has also served as a sitting member of the Credentials Committee and Peer Review Committee for Emory.
